‘ECCO launches the innovative ECCO Primo sandal, the first real summer sandal which can be worn with orthotics’

ECCO Sandal

The ECCO Primo Sandal, although classic in design, incorporates the latest, most advanced, ECCO patented technology. The result is a ladies sandal which promises to not only lead the market in comfort but also innovate summer footwear - ECCO Primo is a summer sandal that can be worn with orthotics.

ECCO Primo, which is part of the Spring/Summer 2005 collection, has a number of key features. It has three adjustable front straps to adapt to the individual shape of the foot; adjustable rear straps to provide support and comfort for the foot by enabling the foot to settle back into the shoe; a ‘shock point’ in the heel to protect the back, knees and hips against powerful shocks and a removable cork/PU foot-bed, which can be replaced with orthotics.

Rita Walker, Head of Marketing, ECCO UK adds:

“ECCO Primo is a very exciting new collection from ECCO. We saw a market need for a classic summer sandal which could be worn with orthotics. And we responded to this by using our experience in designing leading comfort-enhanced footwear to create ECCO Primo.

Caring for your ECCO shoes

Smooth Leather

  • Wipe over with a damp cloth to remove any surface dirt.

  • Leave to dry naturally away from direct heat – inserting newspaper helps absorb extra moisture.

  • Polish with shoe creams or lightwaxes.

Nubuck

  • If wet allow to dry naturally (as with smooth leather).

  • Brush with a soft rubber brush or firm Sponge block to remove dirt and dust, as well as to restore the nap.

  • Spray with a clear, non-silicone protector spray (ideally this should be done before the initial wear and every 2-3 weeks after that).

  • If shoes have oil or grease stains a hard velour block can help to remove some but not all of these.

Oiled Nubuck & Leather

  • If wet allow to dry naturally (as with smooth leather).

  • Wipe over with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt.

  • Brush occasionally with a firm sponge block to remove any surface marks.

  • Re-oil with oiled nubuck products or light waxes.

Gore-tex

  • Follow care instructions for smooth leather or oiled nubuck depending on the finish of the upper.

  • Avoid heavy waxes or dubbin as these can reduce the breathability of the shoe.

  • 100% wool socks are not to be recommended as they trap moisture around the foot reducing the breathability of the shoe. A blend of wool (max 40%) and man-made materials is best for comfort and breathability.
